Mélissa Hié is an exciting young djembe player from Bordeaux, France. Born into a family of musicians from Burkina Faso, Melissa has apprenticed for 16 years under the tutelage of her father, mother, and older brother. Currently, Mélissa attends law school and plays in her family's group, Benkadi Bordeaux.



A UNIQUE DRUMMING PROGRAM FOR WOMEN
Djembéfola extraordinaire, Melissa Hié, shares her skillfull playing style with programs designed especially for women interested in a unique drumming experience.
Like all our programs, the MOUSSO DJEMBÉ curriculum was developed with the cooperation of master drummers and professional teachers.
Unique rhythms played for women's ceremonies, traditional djembé drumming, dununs, bara, calabash, yabara, and dji dunun are all part of this course of study.

Playing Assessment, 10 rhythms, instrument variation and playing technique, improvisation, original composition, cultural knowledge presentation, musicology presentation, study abroad in west Africa.
Study Abroad
Level 3 certification requires that the student completes a study experience in west Africa
